WHAT IS TRUTH?
Many say there is no absolute truth—that truth is whatever they believe. But Jesus taught otherwise.
He said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
The First Lie
Truth was challenged in the Garden of Eden. God warned:
“Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil… thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:16–17).
But Satan twisted God's words:
“Yea, hath God said…? Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:1, 4).
Jesus said Satan is “a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44).
Just like Adam and Eve, we must choose between God's truth and the devil’s lie.
Why We Reject Truth
Jesus said:
“Men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).
We are born with a sinful nature and naturally resist God’s truth.
But He also said:
“Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
Without repentance and faith in Christ, we face eternal separation from God.
Why Truth Matters
We live by what we believe is true—when we trust a plane to fly or a light switch to work. But only Jesus, the Truth, offers eternal peace and salvation.
Will you trust Him?
